Family love

I have a big, crazy, family. We are all quite different and unique. And I love it. I can't wait to see these people starting TOMORROW! First stop, the Schloemers. Including . . . Mom and Dad Schloemer Jennifer (and fiance Chris) Zoe Halle Jeremy Jenell. Second stop, the Tiemeyers. Including . . . Jenny and Dad Tiemeyer Lisa Brandon Manny John Steven (Sadly no Chris this year). This is my family (and of course Jeffrey). They are some of the most important people in the world to me and I love them all dearly . Merry Christmas! I'll post pictures of my time home after the new year =) ~SheriLynn P.S. Jeffrey gave me my christmas present last night . . . photography lessons! Best. Present. Ever. Soooo Excited!

resolutions. .smesolutions

So, what is everyone doing for New Years this year? Yes, I know it may be a little early to think about this seeing as Christmas hasn't even happened yet. And by NO means am I trying to hurry past this wonderful day. I am filled with excitement and anticipation. I can't wait to see family and friends and finally spend some quality time together! This week of work before going home on Friday is going to take forever! (not that I don't love my little Hayden). New Years has simply been on my mind lately. I by New Years, I mean the resolution part of New Years. I have never really been the kind of person to make a resolution actually. Weird, seeing as it's all the rage. I seriously can't think of one single resolution that I have made before. Probably due to the fact that everyone does it and then never seems to follow through. That bothers me so I usually just avoided it. Not to mention the fact that I have never really needed to make any dramatic changes to

Friday ramblings

It's Friday morning. . . which means my day off, and a chance to sleep in and not wake up to the jolting sound of an alarm clock. Every since I had mono a few years back, I have basically been able to sleep as much as I want. I've never been one of those people with an automatic alarm clock in their head that goes off each morning. But now that I have started getting up at 6:30 AM for work, my body has obviously decided to change things up. I woke up at 8:01 today. Wide awake. Still a little sleepy, but awake nonetheless. So, I got up. And this is what I saw outside our window: That's right, 24 degrees of goodness! Not snow, mind you, but lots of frost and fog. Isn't it beautiful? Poor Jeffrey was assigned the task of dropping the car off at the mechanic and then walking (the short 1/4 mile) to school. I'm sure I will hear about it when he gets home. He has been wanting actual snow for a while so this will have to do. Meanwhile, I am sitting in our big, cozy

Lentil Ew??

Lentils. What do you think of when you hear that word? Usually something along the lines of brown, mushy, EW. But please indulge me and let me try and convince you otherwise. Lentils are part of the legume family and originated in India and Pakistan. They come in all different colors including yellow, red, orange, green, brown, and black. They are also packed with nutrients. Having the 3rd highest protein of any plant based food, they contain a significant source of fiber, folate, B1, and iron (ladies??). When mixed with the right assortment of spices and vegetables, the power food has a delicious earthy taste and smooth texture. When I was in 4th grade, my mom was having more and more health problems and the lupus was getting the better of her. My parents were referred to a natural path doctor and decided to give it a try. This changed our family's life for the better. Not only were we introduced to natural herbs, plants, and minerals that would help my mom (and us) but also, a b
